Session 16
If I had a nickel for all of the weasels I have...
I'd have two nickels, one for yesterday's session and one for today's.
Today was a very classic-type session. Finding tombs with loot after fiddling with a statue past a monster that could have absolutely TPKd a first level party, discussions on how to open sarcophagi, almost getting impaled by spears jutting up from the ground, etc.
As always, the sessions where the party overwhelmingly succeeds are by far my favourite ones. Like I discussed recently, this gives them a lot of leeway and room for planning, places they would like to check, threads to follow up on, etc, and that stuff is some of my favourite in RPGs. I can't wait for them to follow up on things and see what effect they produced.
It's also very funny to see them commenting with one another about how Arden Vul stretches on forever while I have the map open and can see exactly how much more it stretches on for. But hey, we breached 109 rooms today, that's 5.3% of the entirety of the dungeon explored in 4 months worth of adventuring! We'll see how much more they explore next session. And if they remember to bring their successor characters along to pump them with XP in case the main ones die ignominiously to spears jutting out of the ground.
