Arden Vul Weasels - Session 14
Session 14

WW gave us another recap.
This was the most fight-filled session yet and it confirmed to me that the Hits system thing works well. It's very up to interpretation and leaves some nice moments of "yeah he can't do anything about that, you get all that you wagered" as well as moments of "I just attack, let's roll", which is nice. It also, hopefully, gave the Weasels some confidence as they dispatched with some ease three 3 HD foes and one 4 HD monster that was quite dangerous due to being able to hit all of them at once.
The one issue is that the attrition is slightly compromised due to me not having a Hit rubric for 1d4 damage. I have it that a Hit is about 6 to 8 damage and tend to round up, but there's a lot of monsters that deal this sort of shitty chip damage that is intended to slowly accrue over time. It's not a major issue though as I just say the attack causes a wound but not a Hit.
The Weasels are starting to really get invested in pixel-hunting around the dungeon to minimise their peril and also find out more about the setting, which I'm always for.
The one thing I feel motivated to do more is introducing things by fiat, specifically other adventuring parties. I realised I've been waiting a lot for random encounters to introduce them and that's a bad idea. As well as other things which I don't want to keep relying on the dice for.
