Violent City - Session 5
[in the same tone of "i frewed up"] I didn't make the logs for this session. Playing after work during the week with no dinner or cameras was very demoralising, but I did my best to have a good time, and overall I'd say I did, but with reservations and perhaps less than last time.
My character generally didn't have much to do, which I'm fine with, I was very invested in where the stories of the other characters were going, but Violent City's very depressing setting and the situation we dug ourselves in just hit particularly hard this time around. We blundered stupidly into the consequences of a mistake we made 5 sessions ago, no real motive, rhyme, reason, or plan. As the reality of the situation (pitting 3 massively powerful factions against one another) dawned on us, each player started noticing their character had their own goals, and I started to realise that perhaps mine is "she has to realise she's not really a good character match for this setting and group configuration".
The aforementioned debuffs were my main issue ultimately (I was VERY sleepy due to being hungry for the first half of the session), and interacting with factions made entirely out of assholes makes me feel a bit like I did when I was playing Vampire. As in, even the best-case scenario for this character is probably terrible, and that's pretty hard to engage unironically.
We'll see though, it appears we'll be doing jobs for the guy who's in the business of selling children to demons (the alternative was a bug demon or a crazy samurai biker who pushes drugs bad enough to get people killing), so perhaps Leaper will find some slightly less rancid vibes in the wasteland... and then promptly kill it or something.
