Lonely Star

And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow - Session 18 - The Tundra Delve

One of those sessions. Not my finest, though not quite one of my worst. Just a subpar showing from my end.

I've been feeling awful this week and my prep was all scattered. The place they delved was far too big and they burned through their stock of time very fast, ended up finding not very much aside from learning about the place a bit, and then retreated.

The issue, I think, is that the place is built to support repeated delves, but due to our structure, these are way too spaced apart, so this sort of uneventfulness is a detraction. The strength of the Silver Gentleman and the Ogre quests were that they were focused and smaller.

Were I in the correct headspace I would have wanted the entire thing to be tied more deeply with one another, more quests and connections and rewards. I feel wretched about a "walk around and talk and then come back" session when it was meant to be a knight errant quest of more substance.

The silver lining is that the next session will go back to the school structure, and I have way more ideas for that than for the wilderness.

For the next delve on the tundra I'll likely reduce the time it takes to get from point to point, it should hopefully help.
