Session 8: Ogre Island 2

Short one today. Made sweeping changes to the system - changed how Passions work, removed skills, predicated the fight system on feelings - but none of them came up as we only rolled once the entire session, which I always count as a resounding success.
They are in this island with 8 ogres who have dominated the people, found some rice grains that makes them the size of rats (15 cm), and snuck inside their castle. The session ended as they did a double plunging attack from the canopy of the bed on top of an ogre that was sexually assaulting one of the villagers. Adjudicating that was interesting, I borrowed a ruling from Nathan where I rolled as if it had been a shot and they rolled beautifully well.
I get worried I'm being too permissive sometimes, but then I remember that if they're hit with one attack there is a real chance they'll straight up die, so I think it's fine to just let them get away with stuff sometimes. Not to mention most of the session was heated planning, so I consider that to be the pay-off.
Things feel like they're in a nice spot now. I have a lot prepped, the world is more pinned down so I know where everything stands, the system is getting out of the way and only being called when needed (and therefore doing its job), so it definitely feels like I have found my footing. I do regret putting in the sexual assault though, I think it sold a bit hard how grotesque the ogres are - the players had already seen and been given extensive reasons to why they were monstrous, it would perhaps have been better to have a defter touch and left that implied.
